Finish Mower or Mid Mount Mower???

I just recently bought a new Kubota BX25 and my question is what would be the better mower to buy for it? Would a rear finish mower be the best choice or would a mid mount mower be better? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

What is your yard like, not much to mow around or lots of stuff to mow around?

A mid mount is generaly more money than a rear mount but the MM is easier to mow around objects with.

For a BX I'd recommend a MMM. I have RFM and used it with B's and an L but use MMM for BX's. Also with BX25 you would have to always take the BH off to mow with the RFM and not with the MMM. The RFM is easier to attach and disconnect if your always taking BH off anyway. Or MMM can stay on all the time, depending on your uses for your BX25.

Generally I would say RFM, because the cut quality is usually the same or better, they're easier to attach/de-tach, and they're easier to maintain. But, since it's a BX I'd go with the MMM.

For the BX, I would go with a MMM. I have a couple of RFMs 7&8 foot models and they work great in open areas, but I have snagged a well head or tree when trimming close when my mind wandered.

The BX and a MMM is a great combination! I have a 5' RFM I am using behind my B2620. I don't think my old BX would have done well with that much weight on the 3PH.

Just picked this a couple hours ago. Cannot really advise you, but you can see what it looks like, anyhow. If this doesn't work out, I'll horse trade it. Easier to do than with a model/brand specific MMM.

I have 3 tractors and a 6 foot rotory mower. I use the 6' to knock down the big stuff. Best thing I did was buy a John Deere riding mower for finishing. It's quick, turns easy and tight, and gets into where I can't get any of my tractors. I also bought the catcher that can pick up leafs. With Lowe's Vet discount I got 10 percent off.
