That is good quality and does not cost an arm and a leg. Not having good luck with the $100 pump from TSC and really do not want to lay out $309 for a "silver" pump if I do not have to.

What are you pumping?
Are both the pump from TSC and the "silver" pump (??) roller pumps? PTO driven?

Might could help if we had some info. :D

You're not giving us enough information. I would assume you are talking about the Hypro pump. Can you tell us what problem you have with it? Since you mentioned the "silver" pump, I'd be inclined to guess you're having a corrosion problem with the cast iron pump, and that's a pretty easily solved, but very common problem. Those pumps are very easily disassembled (4 little bolts). And if corroded, can be cleaned out. Fortunately, I had a glass bead blasting cabinet to do the job. Then you learn to flush it well with fresh water after use, and I'd fill it plain old automobile Prestone anti-freeze that I'd dump out the next time I wanted to use it. The anti-freeze was re-usable. Instead of anti-freeze, some use oil.

If you are doing Roundup or other things you need to flush pump when done and fill with oil or antifreeze to keep the corrosion down. I have camlock fittings on all my pumps to makle it easy.

Yes both are from TSC and the type is PTO.
The pump I have is the Hypro. I used it once several months back spraying 2-4D flushed several gallons of clean water through it and then a half cup of oil and rotated it severl turns. It was locked up solid when I went to use it this weekend.
I have taken it apart and cleaned it up and reassembled. Don't know yet whether it will work. I need to spray Round Up on this usage.

I would (and did) switch to a Shurflo pump. Much less maintenance than when I worked with the PTO roller pump.

The Shurflo pumps are certainly good for what they are designed for. I had them for the water supply in my RVs and I had one on my brother's 50 gallon spray rig. But you can't get as much pressure with them. But I've had to overhaul them, too. Either kind of pump is relatively easy to work on if you have the right tools.

Well, taking the pump apart and cleaning it out got it back working. I also replaced the hoses and a couple of fittings on the spray rig and it is now spraying well down to the last inch or two of fluid whereas before it only sprayed well til the tank was half empty and then dribbled. ;o}
