The four set screws that are on the collar of the rotor shaft have came out. There are two on each side of the rotor. They didn't all come out at once, I replaced them as I noticed them missing. Anyone else had this issue? Also, what is their purpose.

I got the chipper new six weeks and 12 hours ago. Works great, have been chipping cedar, oak, walnut and locust easily.

I had a problem with mine the other day. The fly wheel which has the slot for the twig breaker was actually just starting to touch the knife part of the combo - the part that is on the drum. I stopped the job and headed home to take a closer look. When I opened the top chute the fly wheel had moved a few mm out of harms way. It is still not centered. I took the shaft off the unit and could rock the flywheel a little. I checked the set screws and they were loose. I tightened them and the wheel does not rock. Does anyone know how to center the flywheel so the twig break unit is centered?

I have about 300+ hours on my unit and this is the first problem. It is just over 2 years old.
Very good machine...

My father and I have a BX62 and he experienced a similar problem one day. It turns out it is recommended the unit should be used as level as possible to avoid the problem. Check the screws as part of your maintenance. I will do mine every time I rotate the blades or once a year. I plan to rotate the blades twice a year as I have a milling machine to sharpen them now.

been pleased with wallenstein so far, couple of years on a used machine

note - blades have 4 edges that can be used before they need sharpening. I've not needed to sharpen yet
