I have a chance to get a Model 7 sickle bar mower at a good price. It needs a little work but it is a pretty cool looking machine. It was designed to be pulled with a horse but it is easy to convert it to a tow behind tractor mower. The pitman arm that was made of ash wood is in poor shape and it may need a couple more parts. Does anyone have a parts diagram for this thing? I can't even figure out what is missing or cobbled unless I know what it is su[pposed to look like.:confused2:

Many of my Amish neighbors use these things, and if I could bring this thing back to life their children and grand children could use it. After I am done playing with it of course. :D

I would go over to the Amish community and find one of these mowers and ask if it would be ok to take some pictures of the mower. Ken Sweet

Plan on having to replace the sickle sections (the triangular teeth) and the guards (the pointy things on the sickle bar). The guards contain ledger plates which are part of the sickle cutting mechanism. Cost will be $100-150.

I recently refurbished my MF31 sicklebar mower (7ft). It's not difficult, just time consuming when doing the job for the first time. Be careful--those sickle sections are very sharp. Don't want to make a trip to the ER.
