Caroni Flail Mower TL1500FSC drive belt question
Does anyone have the part number of a Gate's V- Belt that fits the 59" Caroni Mowers......model TL1500FSC......I have read about some of the imported belts are not so good to use. I just ordered a mower from Agri-Supply and thought I would change them out and keep the imported ones as spares.

When you get your mower... remove the belt, measure it. If you are not familiar with belt dimensions, locate an industrial belt and bearing outlet in your city. Take the belt to them , they will be able to tell you exactly what belt you have... and most likely will be able to sell you a replacement at 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of the original belt. They can also recommend the best quality belt available for your application.
They will give you STANDARD belt size information and numbers that you can then look up on line... You will be able to find a lot about power drive belts.
Save money and get great quality. KennyV

I suspect it has at least two belts (double drive pulleys). If yes, then another thing to consider is a banded belt. That's two or more V-belts molded together into one, like the kind I use on my Jacobsen/Ford 917H. Price is comparable to buying a pair of singles, last one I bought was <$18 bucks

Thanks for your replies......a banded belt is a good idea. I had seen many references on this website to the Gates B43 (5L-460) for the 1900 mower and was wondering if the 1500 used the same belts...... but of course only two of them?

Ok, and just in case you don't understand what all those belt numbers stand for - maybe I can help. The B is for banded. The 43 is the belt inside diameter. 5L part means that the belt is 21/32" wide and 7/16" deep. 460 means the outside diameter is 46". Measure your pulley width and depth. Make sure a 5L is actually what you need.
