Got the chipper today, got it uncrated and put together despite the vague instructions-kinda like a mechanical puzzle. Anyway hooked it up to my tractor Mahindra 3510 and I need a longer top link but the thing that fired me up was that Hanmey pto shaft. The end that has the shear device fits on the chipper fine but the tractor end no way is that going on the shaft! The company I got it from said they would send me another but I think it is a sizing problem not necessarily a defect. Anybody else dealt with these shafts? What did you do and is the shear device necessary? Thanks

Not fitting is kind of odd if your tractor has the standard 1.375 x 6 flutes. Check for burrs on both the driveshaft yoke and your tractor's PTO stub shaft. Are you sure you have those flutes aligned and you have the yoke's keeper (pin or collar) depressed?

As far as the shear pin (I'm assuming that's what is being used), that's there to prevent damage to both your tractor and the chipper if the chipper get's clogged so badly it cannot rotate.

After a cup of coffee I went out to the barn and wire wheeled my pto shaft on the tractor and cleaned with some wd 40 and now I got the Hanmey pto shaft on. Now I need to measure and cut the shaft to fit and get a longer top link and I after greasing everything I should be good to give it a try.I'll let you know my results and maybe post some pics also.

Paul - This may seem like a dumb question but,.... who makes the WC8? I would like to research them. I'm thinking Salsco or Valby/Farmi at this point but man, $$$$.

Thanks

I got this one off E-Bay for $2000 delivered. Value Leader is sold by Betst.Pretty easy to work on and while I did break a few shear bolts It was fault trying to put too big a log through the machine.

I google the model and it came out... what appears to a Jinma?:confused3: I've been looking for a while now also and been reading about Jinma here but can not pull the trigger as of yet due to what others experienced... some good and some bad. I don't want to spend too much on a new chipper but if I can find a used one I think I might jump on it. I also read a lot about the Wallenstein chipper and I did not read any complain. I just need to check one in dealer's lot first. I think I will settle on Wallenstein BX42 when I buy in a couple of weeks.

I recently bought a Jinma WC8 Chipper from Coldwatertractors in Hoqium, WA. It's being urned by a Yanmar 1700. They charged me $1250 cash for the chipper. So far I have done about....6 or 8 full size pick up truck loads full. I drive a 1998 Dodge Ram 3500, so it's a decent amount of material. So far the blades are still sharp, and it just chugs right along.
