- 3550 Fard Backhoe and a 1948 Farmall Cub,
Far a while now i have been looking for a small round baler to bale weeds. and Serecia grass and sage for erosion controll bales at work. I also wanted a small baler for baling wheat straw and pine needles for my garden mulch. I looked at an IHI star baler but the price was way off for me. I looked into an old AC Roto Baler and found a few but they arent for sale. A while back the local Branson dealer took in 3 tractors and a mini baler on a trade. Its a Takina Made in Japan that came over from a grey dealer. THe tractor it was on was a tiny Mitsubishi that couldnt handle it well. I asked about it a few months ago and they wanted 1500 for it. I noticed it sat there since last summer. I was there looking at a Mcormick tractor and the Owner of the lot told me I needed that baler. I looked at it and watched it work and such then he popped me with a price of 500 cash for it.
He did a demo with it and I bought it. I had to put it in storage for a few weeks till i get my vacation and some extra landfill training in then I can use it. I like the way the thing rides the 3 point hitch and all the hydraulics are selfcontained.
I looked into a square baler but I saw and heard all the nightmare stories of timing and knotters and such involced with them. This balers is alot more simple withe the chain like a NH baler. It ties alot more simple than a larger baler.
