Pat's easy hitch or universal quick attatch?
Quick question. Wife and kids want to get me some type of easy hitch or quick hitch and I'm not sure on which one to get. Here is a list of my attatchments for my Mahindra 2516.
42" Woods bushhog (trying to trade it for a 5' unit if anyone has one that is too big for them)
66" Woods boxblade
72" Woods landscape rake
60" generic backblade for pushing snow.
Looks like the Agri-supply quick hitch is a little less expensive but I want to make sure it will fit my attatchments.
Thanks everyone and Happy father's Day

Re: Pat's easy hitch or universal quick attatch?
I had Pat's easy change on my 790 for 6 years. It's universal, but you'll still need to shift those implements a bit (in my case, the cutter was the biggest hassle). But overall, it sure made life easier!
Pat's would be my choice if you don't want to modify any implements for the quick hitch.
I've got a Deere iMatch now. I'm going to have to modify my RFM (a Befco) and probably my cutter (Land Pride 5' machine). Not sure about the chipper yet. The only one I know I don't have to modify is a Deere ballast box.
These chores (especially the RFM) will be done after the mowing season (RFM pretty much stays on all summer).
Both the Pat's and the QH will add 4-6 inches to your draft links. You'll have to buy a PTO extention (Tractor Supply has them) if your implement driveshafts (in your case, just the Woods cutter) aren't long enough.
BTW, if you go for the Pat's system, get a few extra formed washers (your lynch pins go through the washer and implement pins...the washers prevent the Pat's from sliding off the implement pins). You're sure to lose one sometime. I also recommend using heavy duty lynch pins (more spring pressure).Roy Jackson

I made a bunch of the formed washers, easier than ordering them.

Re: Pat's easy hitch or universal quick attatch?
Buy a large washer of the same size as the Pat's washer and a smaller one of the right size. (Sorry, I don't have the sizes in front of me.) Take the Pat's washer to the store to compare.
Bend the smaller washer's edge over with a vice and a hammer and tack weld it to the large washer. Done.
It was easier to do that way instead of trying to drill the large washer and bend it.2009 Kubota M7040, R1s, LA1153 FEL, fork lift, 3 rear remotes, T&T

Re: Pat's easy hitch or universal quick attatch?
I bought a quick hitch at first. It fit my blade, but then I got a box blade, flail mower, and a rake. Not all of them would work with the quick hitch. I bought Pat's easy change and I'm golden. I've got hydrostatic trans so I can fiddle with the tractor easy enough from the seat and make the hookup while in the seat. Just have to get off to hook up the top link.
Some day I'll get another quick hitch and modify the implements that don't fit.Monte

Why would you want to get another quick hitch if Pat's is working for ya? Just inquiring. I need to head to Agri Supply in the next few days and I don't want to have to purchase two things lol.

Re: Pat's easy hitch or universal quick attatch?
Pat's makes it easier to hook up unmodified implements, and they do offer a spacer bar for the draft links (I didn't buy that), but PEC still requires some shifting of the implement to hook up. Something like a cutter can be a PITA, even with Pat's.
Once you get the implements modified, the QH will be easier.Last edited by RoyJackson; 06-21-2010 at 05:45 PM.

Re: Pat's easy hitch or universal quick attatch?
I don't have Pat's but thinking about it. IF you can make the quick hitch work on everything, that's the way to go but it only works on a few of my things and making modification to the rest of the impliments is down on the list of things to do... so the Quick Hitch is just another impliment to put on and take off...
