With the hot weather upon us I have realized the need
for a Sun Shade for my GC2610. Any ideas on what to look
for and positive and negative experience would be welcome.
I was looking at a Westendorf in Massey red. Any ideas?

Wish I had a picture, but I will try. Anyway when I bought my Mahindra 4110 I told the dealer I must have one. Both SWMBO and myself are very fair skin. He installed a real heavy duty one, painted to match, and it really does the job. I realize this post is useless without the name, but wanted to confirm it is a solid investment.

Are you talking about a canopy?

Have you talked to your local dealer? I bought mine from my local NH dealer and had a choice of white or blue to go with my New Holland. I choose white to.

Pros is that it helps keep some rain and the majority of the sun off you.

Cons, you are always cold from fall through spring as you are always in the shade. You will be wearing a fleece or light coat just to use the tractor. I have started to tilt the rops back some on certain days to allow more sunlight to enter the operators platform on those days. But when its super hot out its nice to be in the shade.

I wish mine was a quick removal style (I have thought about making it that way) so that I can take it off during the spring and fall.

Mine is a sun shade by I think Firebird but I don't remember exactly.

This one looks interesting...appears fairly easy to install and remove too.

Me, I wear either a pith helmet or wide brimmed sun hat. Although the pith helmet works better if it starts to sprinkle, even the sun hat does OK. If I get a heavy downpour...it's time to knock off work and go get a beer.

Yes, canopy is the word I was looking for. Thanks for the link Roy.
I have purchased a couple of implements from a dealer who recently
opened up business about twenty minutes from my house. I will more than likely see what he can get for me. Although the internet pricing seems
quite intriguing, shipping costs to middle of no where British Columbia Canada
makes your local dealers pricing more inline. Thanks for the replies,
input is always welcome.

Regards,
David

The sun shade that Roy linked to looks very good. All of those ribs would sure make the top strong. I have two different kinds of fiberglass canopies for my tractors, and while both of mine have been very good. I would say that the Great Day Tractor Canopy looks to be every bit as good at a better price than I had paid for either of mine.

Just a thought, but make sure the canopy or sun shade will fit into the garage with the rops up/folded, prior to purchasing one. My rops have to be folded down for my tractor to fit in the garage, and the canopy is still too high with it folded to fit in the garage. So now I have to put it on every time I want to use it. Not the biggest chore I have to do, but sometimes you don't want to play around and just want to get to your work. I can put it on and take it off rather quickly, after working out the steps needed and making a modification.

Thought I would add that tidbit, you may have a large enough garage that this would not be an issue for you. I'm too cheap to install larger garage doors just to have the canopy fit in there.
