I just took delivery of a 7' box scraper from everything attachments. It came with Category 2 clevis pins. I have a category 1 3 point hitch. What do you fellas think would be the best way to handle this? The scraper uses Cat 2 pins, with cat 2 holes. The pins are removable. I was thinking of just using some cat 2 shims I had from my D17, and welding them into the holes. But if there is an easier way, I would like to hear it. I was thinking of getting an easy change system. would a cat 1 easy change handle a cat 2 pin?

Use pins designed for Cat I on the scraper. Then buy Cat I to Cat II bushings to use on either side of the Cat I 3pt holes on the lift arm over the rest of the pin. I have done it that way and worked fine. You could weld the bushings in the Cat II holes on the scraper but if you ever decide to resale or later use Cat II 3pt, the bushings may have to be removed or drilled out. It may require 1-2 bushings on each side of the lift arms to completely cover the pins.

You could also just allow a Cat 1 pin flop around in the Cat 2 hole. It would wear the hole faster but it depends on how much it will be used. This is not a recommendation - just an observation.

You can cut down one of those adapter bushings to fit the depth of the implement hole (where the lift pin bolts through). But I don't really recommend it. Wouldn't take much effort for a 7' boxblade to bend a Cat 1 lift pin. Why did you buy a Cat 2 implement for a Cat 1 tractor?

I bought the exact 7' scraper that they have in the video, on the everything attachment web site, because I have that exact same tractor L 4400. So I never even looked to see if there was an option for a cat 2. I did not bother to see if it was my fault, or theirs, because it ain't going to change anything. So now I will just go with it.

This was my original plan. thanks for confirming it. I had a D17, with Cat 2, that I used the bushings on for my cat 1 implements. But in this case i was hoping there was something made for the transition from cat2 implement, to cat 1 hitch

Why not use something like this from agri supply. Part # 12017

Since making a couple of bushings 2 fit a one to two would be easier than changing out the balls on the lift arms, I think thatis the right path. You could weld them in, but if they are cut to the right lenght, why bother?

Are you talking about Pats easy change or an Imatch type of system? A cat 2 and cat 1 Imatch are not interchangeable.
