Any recs from the users here on a 3 point sprayer? I do not do that much at a time so I have already figured on a 55 gallon or so unit. Also since I go through the woods to get to food plots I need booms that will go vertical. Any recs on brands etc? Thanks!

If you do "not much at a time", make it easy to clean as that is the most time consuming chore. Flushed out and empty (so it won't freeze) and ready to quickly hook up, fill, and go.

If not much, why the 55 gal.?

Brand names may be like trailer brands, and made locally. So not knowing where you are located, can't suggest a brand. But a local tractor supply would be my recommendation.

I'm using an older 25 gallon Fimco ATV 140" boom sprayer that I got from TSC, mounted on a TSC carry-all, to do my 4 or so acres of lawn. This year I switched to Trimec 899, a more concentrated form of the Trimec I was using ...

It requires less of the herbicide - and less carrier (water) - so I have to spray less total gallons ..... and it ends up being cheaper ......

Previously, using regular the Trimec, the 25 gallon tank was way too small .... seemed like I was constantly filling it up .... I guess the idea is work smarter, not harder .......

Still, it would be nice to have at least a 50 gallon tank .....

My booms fold inward (not up) and when folded the unit is about the width of my tractor (Kubota B2910)

Is your tractor capable of handling 500-600 lb on the 3 point hitch? TSC would be a good place to look, if you have one in your area? Ken Sweet

I bought the Fimco 3 pt 55 gal sprayer w/ 12'"spray boom from TSC for $399 plus 10% coupon, have been very happy with it. Also had to buy pto pump and and hose fittings from TSC which was about $70 to go with that. If I had to do it over I would buy the stainless steel pump which wont rust up. Ive had to take my pump apart a couple of times now to free it up due to rust and neglect. Fertilizer is highly corrosive.

I always store my pump with lube inside for the off season (remove the input hose and pour it in). This will prevent pump lockup and also starts up quicker. Ken Sweet

It would not be uncommon for me to spay 5 acres at a time. I use 10 gal per acre currently with the small spayer on the back of an atv. What a pain stopping to fill all the time!

My current tractor is a JD 4700, (I will be keeping this), which can handle 2500 pounds and the one I will pick up this week is a C80L Mccormick which can lift about 5000 pounds.

I also for sure would want a PTO type pump.

Good tips so far, keep them coming! Thanks!
