Not sure how i managed it but i have water in the hyd. system of my backhoe attachment. (independent of the tractor hyd. system)

Anyway my question now is "whats the best way to flush the system" should i start at the bucket cyl. and work back toward the valve bank etc . ???

Not an easy task-and sure is messy, but draining the tank, removing the hoses from the cylinders and manually cycling them to push the fluid out of them, then blowing the hoses out with air is the best way. After all that is done, refill it and run it for a few hours-then change the fluid/filters once more to get the stuff that was left behind out.

But before you do all that-find out how it got in there in the first place, probably a bad breather cap.

Other options that is not quite as messy but still a PITA is to look into water removal filter elements. Depending on the amount of water you have these are somewhat limited on amount of water they will hold.

If you have a drain in the reservoir, can you let the system sit for a few hours and then drain the water off the bottom of the reservoir. This and filters may remove the water if not large of a volume.

Like Ken said, find the source of the water and get it fixed.

either way you need to get the water out.
