I have a old set of grey iron bearing disc. I keep breaking the iron spools .I was thinking of trying to make the disc a sealed bearing type. is this a good idea? does anyone know if sealed bearing disc or better or worse? any feedback would be greatly app.

Need some more information about the problem.

What disk do you have?

The spools usually separate the blades of the disk. Not clear what your bearings are now.

That style was used through out the industry fifty years ago and with the right bearings and spacers you can change them over. You might just try doing one gang at a time to keep the costs down of the spacers and bearings.

Don't be shocked over the price as it is well worth it for longeveity and you won't have to grease every couple of acres as you do now. You will need to take some measurements of the arbor bolt size and the exact or near exact space you will need to fill.

Case IH has good pricing on the parts for discs as we sell a lot parts for other makes.
