JD 4010
I have been thinking about purchasing a backhoe for my small 4010 JD. I don't know if it is even feasible. I was going to dig a foundation. Would the woods 6500 do the job would it even work on my tractor? It says it needs a tractor 15-35 HP. mine is 18. How does it mount up. Is everything self contained. I am really stupid when it comes to this. If there is something else I should know feel free to fire away. Renting might be an option if I could find one to rent, doubtful.

Thanks in advance for the information and opinions.

How deep a foundation? footing or basement or???
Actually, the 4010 pto is 14hp.
This backhoe is self contained and pto powered.
At 950lbs. I think its a little big for a 4010 3pt hitch.

I'd just either hire the job out or rent a larger machine.

Check w/ Woods tech or a dealer and see if
they have a subframe mount for it.
That eliminates the 3 PT and will
tell u if it is recommended for your unit.

Brent,

If it's a one time event - rent. I think a better idea would be to rent a small excavator for a weekend. They are fun as well you might find one used for $6-7,000 from what I have seen.

The woods 6500 would probably fit and work for your unit but is limited to 6.5' depth as well may be a bit heavy on the 3PTH.

Talk to your dealer about this too, if attaching a BH will effect any warranty you may have.
