In the future, keep on hand some penetrating oil. The Liquid Wrench stuff that's widely available works pretty well. If you have something that is horribly badly stuck, try Kroil, an industrial grade penetrating oil ("creeping oil").
ditto that.. wd-40 is good for removing price tags or getting water off a distribuitor.. but when it comes to stuck fasteners.. it's not something I reach for.
