I still havent decided quite yet on the compact tractor brand to go with yet :)

But i do have some questions about the implements. are the implements pushed by manufacturers any good?

for example are Bobcat implements, kubota (lands pride) John deere (frontier) Cub cadets implements ETC. are these implements as good as long time implement names like Woods, or Bush hog?

Basicly i was wondering if i ended up getting the dealer brand implements am i getting a decent implement or am i getting an overpriced cheap option.

Also do these manufacturers support their brand implements with warranty/& work?

Thanks again for answering my newb questions :)

Tractor branded implements and others you mention are usually good quality at a very high price. You can shop around and get comparable quality for considerable less money spent. Warranty on the products would be about the same. Ken Sweet

My only experience is buying a "John Deere" snowblower....a 64" Frontier.

It looks to be very well built (IMO) and the cost, through a JD dealer, was waaay reasonable.... $2100.00 or $100 less than a Martin Meteor.

I would say it is wise to shop for quality AND price. Educate yourself so that when you are shopping you know what you are looking at.

That said, TBN is a library of tractors and implements.

There are only so many manufactures. I think land pride is a Woods implement, not sure though. ANd i know that there is not a Frontier plant making bushogs, BB's, hay cutters etc. They are made at some other company painted green and decaled up.

i would say each implement needs to be selected individually, as quality and design can vary. However if you stick to a name brand (such as Woods, Bush Hog, etc.) you should be o.k. More important is matching the horsepower of your tractor to the horsepower rating of the implement. If you buy a light duty implement and use it with a high HP heavy tractor, you will regret it regardless of brand. Most companies make the same implement in several levels of durability, of course at an increased price. I like to buy implements at least to match my horsepower rating, if not more. Most implements sold at places like Tractor Supply seem to be light duty versions so beware if you buy a more powerful tractor. Buy the heaviest duty implement you can afford and you sill not regret it. Sometimes you will be limited by what your dealer stocks however.

Shop around beforehand so you know what is a competitive price for a quality implement. I think if you buy as a package, say an FEL and bushog, with your tractor, you will probably be able to get a price on the implements competitive with the major implement manufacturers. If not, check other dealers/makes or purchase from the implement manufacturers.

Just because the new equipment is at a John Deere dealership, does not necessarily mean it is quality equipment. We have 2 local JD stores that I have confirmed have JD colored green implements that are a box store Brand and low ball priced. If you don't buy John Deere fall back to the Frontier line, not the one that starts with the Letter A. Ken Sweet

Thanks , I have monochromatic vision (means i can only see black &white and shades of grey)

So i dont buy tractor/implements based on color but the actual brand/item & Price. but thanks for the tip ill make sure that any implement i get isnt a generic implement.:)
