    Default TSC Landscape (york) rake

I need to buy a landscape rake in the not to distant future. Tractor Supply is going to be opening an new store in my town within a month (I would guess by the looks when I drive buy). So my question is " Does TSC offer grand opening deals such as 10% or 15 % off on such purchases when the new store opens?" If they do I guess I will wait till they open to purchase. If no deals I will drive to another nearby TSC and get one sooner.

No offense but you seem to be hung up on price vs. quality. Reasearch TSC landscape rake threads on this site, form your opinion and then go to TSC and look up the weight and design of the TSC rake of your width choice, then look up similar weights and designs of York, Woods, Landpride, etc. Paper glider vs. B-52 bombers. You can sign up on Tractor Suppy's email list and they will periodically send you a coupon for 10%.
I went all out with the Bush-Hog rake and it is now beat all to pieces. Next one will be the cheapest I can find.

    KubotaSam,
When the store opened near us in Bangor I don't remember any discount at all. May be I just was not paying close enough attention because I walked in just to look around and was not intending to by anything. Watch Craig's List and Uncle Henry's there are used rakes sold on both quite frequently.
It's the going that counts not the distance!

I have one TSC implement, the small subsoil plow and that is enough. I buy my dogfood there that is about it.

I would take a close look at implements from TSC. Some, not all, TSC stores sell King Kutter implements which haven't been bad, except for the paint. Other stores sell different brands which many have complained about.

Steve,I got a huge laugh out of that one.
You think theres any truth to the rumors that Toys-Are-Us is going to start to sell tractor attachments? And I did not mention any specific brand/manufacturer,etc, before some of you's start throwing stones at me.

BTW I always heard the KK/CL tillers and PRO grade stuff was well made.

    Bullbreaker,
The problem I have with TSC is they always seem to have cheaply made stuff. I am sure some of their stuff is okay but not enough that I wan't to spend the time sorting it all out.

I am tired of hardware stores that don't have real hardware anymore yet seem to be able to sell cokes, hats, food, clothes and yes toy tractors.

If you are in landscape business, etc where you use the rake often I'd go with a good name brand (usually expensive). If it's for occasional homeowner use, I think the one at TSC would be fine (less expensive). I have the 6 ft King Kutter obtained from TSC a few yrs ago and it has held up and worked well for my use and it's been loaned out a few times.

For single project use, you might also consider renting one or borrowing one from a neighbor/friend. Equipment rentals usually have them also.
