Is it possible to add more Rear Remotes and a 3rd SCV???

Hi All,
On my 4320 i currently have 1 rear hydraulic remote. Would it be possible to add more to my tractor?? I have seen tractors with up to three on tractors. What is the maximum number of remotes and how much would it cost to add 3 to my tractor. Also I have seen 3rd SCV's installed on tractors by the factory. I like this better because it is easier to operate the FEL mounted plow since the button that controls the 3rd SCV is right on the joystick compared to the add-on kit that i have seen where it is an actual lever which i could not operate the loader at the same time as the hydraulic angle. Anything's possible. How much do you want to spend, who will be doing the work, and how extensive of a mod are they willing and able to do? I think that is the main question.

There are a few ways of adding additional hydraulics through your dealer - there are also aftermarket options, but I will let others (with more experience explain those)

The 4x20 series come standard with Mid Mount Valves (1&2) that normally would control lift and curl functions on your loader. The 3rd SCV Kit (Factory or Dealer installed) is a separate valve and is lever controlled. This lever is positioned basically next to the 3 Pt Hitch lever and the outlets are mounted behind the seat, facing to the rear.

There is also a 4th & 5th Electric Diverter kit available as a Dealer installed option. (it can be added at any time) This Diverter kit adds two additional outlets at the rear of the tractor and an electric switch which controls the flow from valves 1&2 between the Mid Mount outlets (1&2) and the rear outlets. (4&5) Because of the way this is set up, you cannot use both the Mid Mount outlets and the Rear outlets at the same time.

What gets confusing is if you add the diverter without adding the 3rd SCV kit - and this is done all the time depending on what the operator wants/needs. In this case the Mid Mount outlets remain 1&2 and the Diverter becomes 3&4 - I hope that made sense.

What some operators dont care for with this system is twofold - that the loader functions and dual rear outlets can not be run at the same time (because they are in fact the same set of valves) and/or that there is no way to have lever controls other than the single lever for the 3rd SCV, which is its own valve.

Last week we received some information on new hydraulic options for 2011 3x20 and 4x20 series tractors and it looks like there will now be a separate, lever controlled, 2 valve kit available (and no, it will not retrofit back to the 2010 and previous models) as well as the original Electric Diverter kit and a new EH (electro-hydraulic) 3rd SCV kit that has a on/off switch on the right fender pod with a 3 function joystick - it should be great for grapple buckets, 4 and 1 buckets, etc. It does not look like the original, lever controlled 3rd SCV kit will be available anymore.

Neither the FEL nor the 3pt hitch can be used at the same time as the 3rd SCV. BleedGreen could you please expand on your explanation of this phenomenon.

The single lever control is only adapted to very basic tasks. You cannot leave the valve open (to use a log splitter for example) unless you tie the lever.

Very sad the new developments will not be compatible with older machines.

Adding hydraulics is only limited by your imagination. It really helps to get a boost by ordering the stock power beyond option, but even that can be user configured. To get you enthused, here are pics of my year 2009 JD 3720 installation:

I'll second that. My tractor came with a rear remote and I added a joystick for an additional 2 ports and routed the rear remote through a selector valve to give a second option for the lever. Recently added a backhoe and just put it in the loop.

He was describing the "electric diverter" that gives you the 4th and 5th SCV. No phenomenon, works as designed.

Sounds like the new setup will be the same as the 110tlb with the diverter being a three section unit. Never understood why the 4520 was not available with the three section diverter valve.

Is there anything wrong with putting two tee's in the front aux circuit to allow for an additional set of coupers at the rear. I rarely use the front aux couplers and recognize you would need to use only one pair (front or rear) at a time. Right now I have the three section diverter valve with three sets of rear outlets, if I can tee into the front aux circuit I could have four sets of outlets at the rear and have full control of a hydraulic rear blade with the joystick. This would still maintain the boom and curl circuits to work too.

To be more specific are the couplers able to withstand the system pressures while unplugged in this scenario? I would rather not have to add shutoff valves.

Thanks for the pics, and I'm impressed with the design and the accomplishment.
The pics leave me "somewhat" enthused. But the added clutter leaves me with the desire to find a better design, or do without.
No offense meant, but are the lines extra heavy duty or large and necessary, or could they be smaller such as 1/4" or 3/8" ?
And the control valve assembly? Could it be a bit more petite?

Is there a specific part number on that new rear hyd? I need to have mine done but want to make sure they dont hose me with the old style...
