I'm in the market for a new pull behind spreader. One short coming with my current spreader and all that I have currently found is that they can not be operated from the seat of my sub-compact. Is anybody aware of any spreaders that this would not be the case? I saw a unit in tractor supply (130# unit) which used what looks like a bicycle brake cable to control the drop rate which I might be able to modify. Has anybody done this with success or have alternate solutions. I would love to have a 3pt unit but I also haven't found units with hopper capacity of in the range of 150# or less (or below $400 for that matter).

You might try Herd Seeder company out of Logansport, Indiana if you haven't tried already.

FERTILIZER SPREADER - Agri Supply

That one only holds 350 lbs and is cheap.

I'm thinking about picking up the 600 lb model just for the ease of transporting(125lbs!). My pendular spreader is too heavy to move by hand.

For 100 lb unit, get a lil 100lb capacity earthway push spreader w/ 13" tires for yards and small spots.

Just checked out the herds. Cute!

I will not ask why, but here is a 200lb unit. http://www.herdseeder.com/S3B_seeder

Cummings and Bricker have a nice towed unit that they sell and distribute that would be fine your your CUT.

Is your wig wag an old Vicon 2 wheeel driven unit; and is it something you wish to sell perhaps?

I would stay away from northerns model for sale only because of parts issues I will look up the brand name of the spreader offered by Cummings and Bricker and post it here shortly for you

Just wanted everyone to know that Herd Seeder Co., Inc.'s product line has been sold to Kasco Mfg. Co. in Shelbyville, IN.
It was nice to see all the posts about Herd Seeder Company over the years.
Thank you and bye from the Herd Gals.
