my math puts the blade speed between 150-200rpm @4mph

most brush hog gear boxes are ~1.5:1 speed up

so 540*1.5= 810rpm

me thinks it ant going to cut worth a poo!

Used to see those all over North East and Central Texas back before batwings became so common. They would pull them several wide to mow pastures. They cut pretty good, just were a little dangerous if you hit anything while cutting.

I agree. I figured based on a 40" tire @ 4MPH the tire itself would only rotate at about 34 rpm. And some of those 2-speed rears had close to a 9:1 ratio, that still only puts it @ 300rpm blade speed. That definatally aint going to cut very well. Not to mention when he gets into heavier stuff, I see the grass just wrapping up and casuing the tires to slip.

And even 4 MPH with a 800rpm blade from a REAL bushog is sometimes a bit much in heavy stuff.

My guess is that is why it is forsale. He built it , found out it didn't work, and now wants to sell it and take the money for a real cutter. I'd love to see a video though.
