Kubota L3240 - Hst
I saw where drjay9051 got his new Caroni flail mower today. Kubota brought me out a new 72 inch RFM this morning. I got my wife to drive the Kubota (1st time) to unhook the box blade from the Harbor Freight quick hitch. Then she backed up to the LP. No go on that! I will have to turn the rear hitch plates (mounting arms I call them) around before they fit the hitch. No problem except for the fact that I have a "very large" kidney stone  right now and didn't want to hurt myself further. The 4 bolts and hookup will have to wait. :confused2:

Best to leave it be. I've hurt myself the most by "jerking" mowers and brush hogs to line them up with the three point. Including one hernia. If it weighs three times your weight and you try to Sumo wrestle it you will lose. Take your time.

I use a 6' rock bar to help with lining up implements, it really saves my back.

I used to do the same thing until I bought my new McCormick Tractor. It has those extendable lift arms. The lift arms also adjust alot wider than my old Massey did. I just have to get close now and hookup is an ease.

Thanks for the suggestions. Again, I have a quick hitch. I just have to turn the hitch braces 180 degrees on the RFM, and should be no problem. I just don't feel like working on it with this kidney stone.

Need some help here, please. My 12 yr old grandson came over to my house. We got the hitch braces rotated and hooked up the HF quick hitch, but we go to raise the mower the top link of the mower comes right out of the hook. I'm thinking we probably need the adapter but I can't find it on Harbor Freight.
Can someone help me? I'm new to real tractors having had smaller garden tractors for years and they don't have these type hitches. :confused2:

Thanks,
Ron

Hi Ron - I bought a Landpride 60" flail mower (FM2060), and the 3-point mount does not have the correct vertical spacing for my SpeeCo Quick-Hitch. My dealer is modifying the Landpride by welding on a piece to lower the top link-pin so it conforms to specs. I do not know about the HF Quick-hitch, but I assume that they are all made to the same spec. I guess at least some of the Landpride gear is not.

It works fine on the 3-point, just not with the quick-hitch. Hope this helps,

paul
