This is the blade assembly from my BMB cutter. Not being familiar with these, is this a common configuration where I might be able to find parts from another make? My plan B is to have these broken pieces fab'd locally or see if another manufacturer has a whole blade assembly that would fit the existing shaft?
Any thoughts, help or info is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

That's a strange looking set up.

I don't see why it wouldnt work just as well without those short blades in the middle though. Most cutters I've seen only have 2 blades on just the ends of the blade holder.

If you can get dimensions off your intact blades, you may be able to find a replacement or workable substitute here:

Maybe I can clarify the setup a bit. The 2 blades are intact and attach by 1 bolt through a bushing at the ends of the main driven bar. The broken pieces you see are bent (formed?) bar stock which attach behind the blades and appear to provide spring action against the blades, maybe holding them in place?
I've never seen how "normal" rotary cutters are set up so maybe it's worth a shot trying it without the broken pieces in there. Should I assume the blades should pivot freely?
Strangely enough, new blades are still available for this but no other parts are.

.

Normally the blades swing freely so they deflect around objects they cant cut, then centrifugal force swings them back out to the cutting position

I was trying to do some research on BMB mowers, and found this thread.

It seems there are a couple of others who have that brand mower too, so maybe they could tell you if those pieces are necessary

I would try without the brokem parts and let the blades swing 360 degrees. With all the rocks I break up the blades have to swing.

I would remove the broken parts and see if the blade will clear the center bolt if it swings 360 degrees. If it clears I would use it that way.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'll try it this week and let you know how it works!
