I stopped by the local TSC store today. They are carrying the King Kutter tiller in three sizes 48", 60", 72". They start at $999 for the 4 foot model. They had a whole rack of King Kutter brochures including one on the tillers. Sadly the brochure says you need 20 hp to run the 4 foot tiller which is a long way from the 14 pto hp that my little Yanmar 186D has. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif Probably most of you are more interested in snow blowers than tillers right now, but some of them may still be there in the spring.

I have a Mitsu. d1550 which has 14.6 pto hp and it pulls my john deere tiller just fine in really soft ground i use lowest gears but normal rocks around here second works fine

If you have HST or a creeper gear you will be fine. If not, you can make 2 passes. I use a 72" behind my L3710, (30 PTO HP), without a problem.

Paid $999 for my 60 inch tiller at TSC last spring. My tractor is 24hp at the pto. No problems with sod, sometimes you have to go slower. Tried something different the other day, set the cruise real slow, you would not believe the finish it put on the plot, looked like a table top.

Chris,
We run a 4 ft. Howard Rotavator on my Dad's little Mitsubishi MT160D with no problem. I haven't tried it on my little 186D yet, but it should work fine as the 186 is just a little bigger and stronger than the Mitsubishi.

I have a JD4110 which I think is around 17 hp at the PTO and I am running a Kioti (First Choice) KT03-55 which is a 55" tiller. I have no problem running this tiller and have only had a few times where I needed to slow up, but that was in clay that would be considered by most to be concrete.
