FYI, Michigan Iron earns their money. I probably haven't saved a dime other than the fact that I used less material. If you subtract that, I will have almost as much in mine and did my own welding. I didn't think I needed one that HD and it turns out I didn't.

Awesome job Reed, just wish we had more pics of the build! Did you cut the 3/4" plate or was that done by someone local? I'm also curious about the cutting edge...when I enlarge the pic it looks like the inside radius was cut in with an end mill then sharpened w/ a grinder? Have you got a Bridgeport hiding in the corner of your shop?

Speaking of shops....I was at Wilkie's Machine Shop on RT 148 in Herrin ( or probably actually Energy...who can tell) yesterday, maybe you've heard that they are selling out lock-stock and barrel....they have sold the smaller mills and lathes all the welders, plasma cutters, etc but still have the large cnc machines and turret lathes a ton of high quality tooling and some quality older shop equipment, cabinets, hardware, etc left. Individual prices aren't excellent ( I'm spoiled by auction prices....plus I'm shamefully frugal) but the bottom line for everything left in the shop sold together is fantastic and probably still negotiable....they are desperate to be done with it. You ought to run by there and see if they have anything interesting.

OK, a few pictures for you picture junkies. The hydraulic quick connect is the reason I got this machine.
Kay, nice job (I think) on the tooth but you got to shrink them photo pixels down a bit or else I got to get a monitor the size of a drive-in movie screen to view your work!;)

When the pics load try left clicking the mouse on them again to minimize them...I think you must be viewing them enlarged. When they load for me, they load enlarged but instantly minimize.

Even better though is to load only appropriately sized photos to save bandwidth. Also, though it is a minor point, having overly large photos seems to crash the TBN iPhone app when trying to see the photos.

Sorry, new camera. I'm still working with a learning curve. I'll work on the issue.

I had Shew Bro. cut out the pieces and I welded them together.I am almost out of Oxy/Acy. I'm not low enough to have them refilled and not enough left to do the job.

Hello Kernopelli, I need to address "When the pics load". I have a dial-up connection because that is all that is available where I live so the "When" practially means that I start to upload a fourm member's pic, go have lunch, come back and wait ten more minutes for the completion......yes I am SLIGHTLY overstating the issue but not by much.
Please-all go to our "RELATED TOPICS" section and find "POLL: Your type of internet connection" and enter your type of connection to the net. This my help the TBN administrators regarding the pixel size of allowable posted photos, preferably 640x480 so we can all enjoy them in a reasonable amount of uploading time.

Hello Kay, your amended photo size opens up to me (dial-up connection) very fast! Thank you and keep the pics coming at that pixel setting as your posts and photos are important to all of us. How about the rest of the TBN members? Too small for high speed connections? To me, half a screen shows all that I need or then I will edit for a closer look. Thanks Kay.
