I purchased a Turfmaster Sweep-All lawn sweeper a little over a year ago and just wanted others to know about the poor quality of the product, manufacture, and distributor. Hate to see anyone else get ripped off the way I did. I purchased the unit through a local dealer and within 10 hours of use the unit had a broken drive chain. Called the manufacture and after 10 days he returned call and told me the unit was designed with too many brushes and he would send me parts to update product. After this was done the unit snapped the gear box off the frame. I was told this was due to too light of metal being used to build the frame and there was not much he could do. Contacted Edney Distributing who is the distributor, they contacted manufacture who agreed to send me new frame so I could repair unit. I never received parts and letters sent to Edney go unanswered. Unit is now out of warranty and is scrap metal. For something costing over $4000.00 I expected to get more than 20 hours use. My advise is stay away from both Sweep-All and Edney Distributing products unless you don't care about warranties.

You need to take them (Edney Distributing) to small claims court as your amount is under $5000.00 USD and they have to respond otherwise they will default automatically and you have legal rights as it is covered by the waranty laws in your state of residence.

Greetings! I write this as a new member of Tractor By Net & the current Distributor / Representative of Sweep All by Turfmaster in the United States. Hopefully some of you have seen and/or stopped by our booth in October, 2014 at the GIE Expo in Louisville, KY. We also purchased booth space at the ARA Show in New Orleans – Feb. 23 to 25, 2015. If not, feel free to stop by our booth at the 2015 GIE Expo – Oct. 21 to 23 in Louisville. In the meantime, you can visit our websites at: jokelaequipment.com or sweepall.ca

Since the posting by ‘mastermechanic159’ is still visible & included in this on-line forum even though it was posted in 2010, some clarity needs to be provided to include the manufacturer’s perspective and to communicate both sides for full understanding. Even though my organization was not the U.S. Distributor at this time, Jon at Turfmaster / Sweep All remembers this issue like it was yesterday. The following corrections need to be communicated:

1) Mastermechanic159 is not clearly remembering the time-frame. He posted his information in this forum - October, 2010 & stated that he purchased the sweeper a little over a year ago – which would suggest that it happened in 2009. Jon disagreed and said it happened at least 10 years ago. The reason it is important to accurately provide the date is because in 2004, the machine had only been produced for 5 years & was still in the infancy stage. Since this time, the machine has changed & improved every year it has been manufactured. This includes 2015 which saw an optional 5.5 foot hopper scissor lift added to the HMW, HPW & TPW commercial models. In addition, Turfmaster has also introduced the new HM-1548 model that is designed for the homeowner & rental yards. The HM-1548 is 1/3 of the weight of the large machines & ½ the price.

2) Sweep All is not denying that the drive chain or gear box broke. However, the distributor (Edney) made a serious order error requesting a machine that was not capable of handling the workload mastermechanic159 wished to complete. He states in his posting “the unit was designed with too many brushes.” This is an accurate statement considering the sweeper turns at 650 rpm’s - the machine basically beat itself up.

Mastermechanic159 leaves the reader believing that nothing was done and Sweep All ignored this serious allegation. This is not correct. Sweep All attempted to make numerous connections with mastermechanic159 to inform him that they had built an entirely new sweeper & were ready to ship it to him at completely no charge - for the machine or shipping - due to the difficulties that he experienced. Sweep-All kept the machine in inventory for over 5 years but mastermechanic159 never responded. To this day, if mastermechanic159 contacts Jon at Sweep-All, he will still stand behind his warranty which is now over 10 years old. A person would have to look long & hard to find another manufacturer that would even consider making this offer after this much time has passed, let alone making sure it is enacted.

Thank you for reading this & understanding that two sides to every story always exist!
