The only possible advantage I can see is it may make it the right spacing for a cat2 quich hitch?????

Cat 1 and Cat 2 pins have different length. When You fit a Cat 2 lifting arm on a Cat 1 pin (OK, if with sleeves), but it's not possible to fit a stopper because Cat 1 pin is shorter than Cat 2 pin. So it's not an advantage, but necessity.

By stopper I assume you mean the lynch pin???

I know they make cat1 pins in different lengths as well. All of my implements have on pins that are long enough to work with the cat2 lower arms. They only need bushed.

I just measured all of my implements and the shortest pin I have (to the edge of the lynch pin hole-A' in your pic) is 1-3/4" on the mower. The bushog and blades are both 2".

How wide is the ball on your cat 2 lower arms???

These are probabally what JLsmith is talking about

Lower Link Pin, Category 1 to 2 Adjustable, 1-1/8 in. dia. - 0268381 | Tractor Supply Company

And these are the extra long ones with 2-1/4" usable area

Extra Long Forge Draw Pin, Category 1 - 0265121 | Tractor Supply Company

As opposed to 1-3/4" usable area

Lower Link Pin, Category 1 Forged, 7/8 in. dia. - 0268959 | Tractor Supply Company

And either can be used with the 1-3/4" bushing

Category 2 to 1 Lift Arm Bushing - 0268454 | Tractor Supply Company

All these parts are commonly avaliable @ TSC and WAY cheaper than $66. No way would I even dream of paying that when other options exist that are avaliable locally and work jsut as good.

That's what I was thinking about - Your attachment pins are probably long enough if You don't have this issue.
Then it changes everything in our discussion.

The width of cat 2 ball on may M tractor is 50 mm (2"). But the width of cat 1 ball on L tractor is 34 mm (~1.34" if conversion is correct). That's why I can't fit, yes it's a lynch pin, into its hole.

Ok, are you useing two tractors ( one with cat 2 balls and one with cat1 balls) or do you have one tractor with cat2 balls and want to convert all cat one attachments to fit the cat2 ball.

Yes, I'm using 2 tractors - one with Cat 1 another one with Cat 2. And I don't need to convert all attachments into Cat 2 forever.

My L5030 Kubota has a semi compliant Cat 2 while my MF 5455 has a fully compliant cat 2. There are one or two of my implements that have homemade pins and the MF is very tight getting lynch pins in. I have two lynch pins with flats on the side that I use.

All the others fit fine, same as when we used the equipment on a Case with a Cat 2 hitch. I wonder if there are some shorter pins in europe?

They really are shorter. On some attachments they are even welded on and not replaceable.
