No any commitments. Just I'm sharing an info on a subject, what kinda kit I'm using to fit Cat1 attachment to Cat2 tractor. Not often, but sometimes it may happen, when you need to do this.

In the pic2 you see dimensions (a) and (a'):
a - is equal to the width of Cat1 lifting arm fitting point;
a' - is equal to the width of Cat2 lifting arm fitting point.

I always just use Cat 1 stuff on my Cat 2 tractor with the pins loose, rarely a problem. One piece I have has the Cat 1 pins facing in, I can't get onto that one as the arms can't squeeze together enough.

What does that kit cost vs just buying new pins to fit the tractor?

I just bought some sleeves from my dealerthat fit over the cat 1 pins and make them same as cat 2. I think they were about $1.50 each. I was thinking of replacing all the pins with CAT 2 but then thought I may want to use them with my cat 1 tractor. Sleeves work great, just have to try not to loose them when unhitching. Can likely also get them from TSC.

That is all we use. The little 1.5" long or so "bushings" that are 7/8" ID and 1-1/8" OD. Use them when we hook something up to the JD2040. But for whatever reason, the JD2040 has the CAT2 lowers but still uses the 3/4" CAT1 toplink:confused:

jlsmith,
No, the new Cat 2 pins (I have them) doesn't fit a Cat 1 attachment. Larger diameter of holes required on an attachment. If they'd fit, I wouldn't order this kit.
On the other hand you could drill wider holes, but the attachment will not fit Cat 1 pins and tractor afterwards.
The price of this kit is $66(US).

For $66 vs the $3 worth of bushings, what is the advantage???

I cant see them being any stronger, cause after all, they are still connected to the 7/8" cat1 pin.

The only possible advantage I can see is it may make it the right spacing for a cat2 quich hitch?????

Gary,
I would do the same. But the width of Cat 2 lifting arm's end is greater then the width of Cat 1 arm's end (a'>a) and it's not possible to fit a stopper. I'm surprised sleeves work great in Your case.

They make cat2 pins to fit the cat1 attachments. I sell them if you ever need any.

Jlsmith probably has the pins I use when I am not using bushings. The pins are cat2 but use a cat1 sized bolt to fit the implement.
