OH, Aimed to add this in the last post. I work for a company that purchased/merged with one from the Midwest. There is a lady that leads a project I am on and she is from the Midwest. Of course us south of the Mason Dixon will say ma'am to show respect. However, it is interpreted at least by her as an indication of age, older age. Not good. She has asked we refrain from this practice.
Great if I call I will call her a madam.
