    Default Erskine Front Mount Snowblower

In case anyone is thinking about a front blower driven from the rear pto, there's an ad in Classifieds for my extra Erskine Snowblower. Dick B

How long would it take to adapt to an M series? My tires are 84" wide, can it be fitted with "wings" to gather more snow? I have 62 PTO HP>

Hi Joe, the frame and mounting points are all adjustable. Frame telescopes for length match. It could be set up to fit an M7040 - figure on a few hours getting the front plate the way you want it. As for width, the Erskine end plates are 1/4" so they're plenty strong for wings. Driving up to a garage door, etc. might leave a snow clump on the sprocket end. Wings should be fine for doing a long drive.

I'll be shocked if that doesn't sell fairly fast at that price.

Seems like a good deal to me, too. A 3point 7' used blower sells for $1,800-$2,200 around here. I wish rbargeron's was 84".

In the brochure for erskine Fm blowers it looks like the hydraulic lines run down the frame to the rear of the tractor. On my Deere the hyraulic QD's are ahead of the steering wheel. Am I missing something here?

I have a erskine coming in and I'll need to purchase 4 hoses

You won't have a problem. There are some guides on the frame, but hoses can turn anywhere and come up. My stretched Erskine has short hoses (about 8') that don't follow the frame - they go direct to a loader valve mounted in the front corner of the cab. Take care, and have fun. Erskine's are nice.
