Tooth Bar Question
I have a loader tooth bar that I have to extend about 6 inches. I need to buy a extra tooth. Does any one know a source where I can buy just a single tooth?

Re: Tooth Bar Question
Welcome to TBN. I see you are also in NC. Are you familiar with an outfit near Winston-Salem called Leinbach Machinery? They are a treasure trove of ag supplies, implements and parts. They sell hardened, weld-on replacment tips for box blade shanks and toothbars. I bought several a while back to replace worn ones on some of my stuff. If you have a local welding shop available, they could probably fab up the stub and add it to your existing toolbar. Then you'd just need to add one of the hardened Leinbach tips.

Re: Tooth Bar Question
I too would like to see the OP help an instate business, but individual teeth are available online if that isn't feasible.
Here's one source.
Dirt Works Industrial Tooth Bar, Bucket Teeth, Assembled or Build Your Own Tooth Bar
Grandad4, where are located in the Piedmont? My farm is in Iredell County.

Re: Tooth Bar Question
This is "funny". I recently called Markham / Gator about a similar question.
I had a 54" bucket and Markham toothbar on my "old" 790 tractor and now have a 60" bucket on my current tractor. I wanted to purchase 6" of bar and a tooth to extend the "old" bar and do a "makeover" for my new tractor.
You guys told me you would NOT sell parts for this purpose....at which time I bought a new tooth bar from you and let the old one go with the sale of my 790.
I just didn't feel like fooling around with it either....as I lack a proper welder to get deep penetration and a torch to do the required rework.....but I was considering letting a welding shop do the makeover. MY POINT IS.....YOU NEED TO BE CONSISTANT IN WHAT YOU SAY TO PEOPLE!!!
YOU (I dont remember the names...cause they all sound alike...but it was NOT Melissa) also gave me some bad advice about the number of teeth.....and now I have one less tooth on my tooth bar than what I had planned on. I can chalk that up to my bad judgment for listening to an in-experienced response over the phone....but then I see this response and it lights my fuse.
I understand why our Canadian friend here at TBN is unhappy with your advice at gator....I aint too happy with you either....especially when you vary your answers...cost me money....and I get less than I planned for.Last edited by foggy1111; 12-07-2010 at 10:04 AM. Reason: clarify info

Re: Tooth Bar Question
Thanks Steve. It looks like the tooth at Dirty Works will fit my bar nicely. I will place an order shortly. It is a great website.

Re: Tooth Bar Question
SO sorry, I was not here at that time so I am not sure whom you talked to or what went on. Glad you got it all worked out.
But yes we do sell replacement teeth or a tooth....lol. We also sell couplings. I can tell you that other parts are a little different and it would depend on the situation or if I have enough in stock that I can let go of some.
Again sorry .....
Thanks

Re: Tooth Bar Question
I had a similar problem with my toothbar... called when Melissa was still there, and as usual she took care of me and agreed to send a piece of cutting edge which is what I needed to lengthen my toothbar. She was so helpful and nice to deal with that I also priced and ordered a grapple from her at the same time! Not so sure the response would be the same since the Markhams have left.
