I've covetted a tree shear for several years. There are lots of choices (eg. Sidney's Timberline, Grace's Tree Terminator, McCormick's Hydra-Snip, etc. etc.). How did you decide on the Timberline?
The rotation feature would be important to me, since a major use would be to keep fencelines and trails clear of overhanging limbs.
Sadly, I have several other pieces of equipment higher up in priority on my wish list.

I have looked at them several times but never pulled the trigger. My problem is not enough GPM and the maneuverability on the CUT. I always fall back to the thought that they (like a PHD also) are best when used on a skid loader.

You don't need a lot of GPM to operate a tree sheaer. GPM just determines the speed of operation.

If you can weld, you can make one similar to the first tree shear.

Theoretically you don't need a lot of GPM to operate a tree sheer. If you are willing to go at a slow pace, or have a big tractor, and have a good aim, you can forgo the skid steer. But, I haven't found anyone who put one on a CUT that was happy with the performance.

I'd get the extra heavy duty hard-hat for using one of those.

Wow, that's exactly what I need on my place, tks for the info, looked at their site, nice stuff. If you don't mind my asking what is the ballpark figure on the 14'' or 10''?

Most of my issues are with shrub oak around the edges of my fields and with overhanging limbs.
