kubota l2900
bought a kubota 2660 5ft front mount blower that was used on a 2350 model tractor. I had to widen brackets to make it fit on my L2900 otherwise all hookups were the same. Turned it on and it spins backwards. It is first time i ever used mid pto but dont see why it would b different than the 2350 model. Any help?

Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate to say it but you will need a reversing gear box for that snow blower BUT You might luck out and be able to mount it on the rear of your L if the steel can be removed and a three point kit attached to the blower.

Neil Messick or Art White can help you with that as you will need to buy a pronovost reversing reduction gearbox to solve the issue and attach it directly to the mid P.T.O.

Sell it to an ice rink. You shove snow into it and you get paved snow that can be used for Hockey Nite in Canada.

By any chance does it already have a reversing gearbox and you can remove it? I've seen them on some John Deere blowers.

I am thinking of putting my rear 3PTH snow blower as a front mount blower. I am very aware that it will turn the wrong direction. They have a chain over 3 sprocket reverse arrangement.I would like to come off the mid shaft and at 1000 rpm then I only will have to cut the speed to 540 rpm. L2250

Gee, that REALLY SUCKS...
Is that a lawn mower tractorette with a belt drive underneath ?
If so you can probably figure 8 the belt to reverse the direction.

But will you have enough power at 1000 rpm to make it useful?

Hello Craig,

You will be money and aggravation ahead buying a three point hitch mounting kit from Peter Pronovost in Quebec for your tractor if it has mid P.T.O., they provide you with the gearbox and lift frame specifically for your tractor and you could buy a Mid Point PTO shaft from them at the same time fit exactly for the distance from the male spline to the reversing gearbox they provide you for the snow blower as it has to be a reversing reduction gearbox for the proper 540 R.P.M. and you will be fine.

To leonz
In the near future I hope to at the mid PTO shaft because that is where my hydraulic pump for the BH is to powered from. I have the special adapters that fit the odd size shaft.

Hello Craig,

My apologies for not responding sooner;

As you already have the mid PTO pump you will need
to set up a reservoir unless you plan on using quick
couplers to direct the oil flow through the BH tank
and back to the snow blower hydraulic pump-unless
I miss understood you.

Happy New Year

I have a aluminum forklift propane tank for my reservoir. The plannig was mount it vertically and run a vent line up the side.In that way it will keep the tractor cleaner profile.
I had made a comment on 100 pound propane air tanks that stirred up a hornets nest, sometimes the best of intentions just go wrong.
