Anybody Have or Used One of These?

This is the log splitter that I purchased off of craigslist (locally) a couple months ago...

**NOTE: I do NOT know who these people are in the following video. I am only showing you that the BARK BUSTER pto log splitter is what I have and letting you watch how it works.**

I think the one the OP posted is different. It looks to be a hydraulic splitter with self contained hydraulic pump run by the PTO. I too would like to know if it works, I've been contemplating a 3 pt splitter but don't have rear remotes. This one looks pretty slick.

Sorry, I see that you are, in fact, the OP.:ashamed: I'm less confused now than I was a couple minutes ago.:)

I have one of the Bark Buster splitters also and I watched that video. It is a scary video, those people obviously don't understand how to use that thing, they did get a few rounds split, but watching them put the rounds on the splitter and not making sure the end of the round rested on the stop is scary. The way they got the stuck pieces freed up was an accident waiting to happen. I can see why people think they are so dangerous.

You are so correct! I agree with you 100%.

I recommend getting a stand alone splitter. I don't wanna tie up a tractor with a splitter. I use my splitter along with the tractor. The tractor lifts a pallet of pre cut logs... then I simply transfer the logs off the pallet onto my horizontal splitter and then onto a table next to the splitter. From the table I simply stack the wood.... simple and easy on the ol back!

Humans are made to work in the standing position. Or comfortably sitting. Squatting on the ground shoving 100 lb logs around is no fun.

Yup! I made mine horizontal when I built it, 32" working height. Only bad thing about it is that it's just the right height to bruise the boys if you have a piece jump out sideways at you.

Have one attached to the tractor and you can't use the tractor to either feed it or take the splits away.

Travis - the splitter you first posted, the filter, pump, and hoses look pretty vulnerable, esp. when you're moving the tractor around to get closet to the pile, etc. I'd rather see the vitals up and out of the way of random cutoffs, etc.
The Bark Buster in the video is scary, as are the operators. Also looks like it isn't sharp, so it doesn't start right in promptly. The cycle time is awful!
