Chipper Heavy-Duty Wood Chipper With Hydraulic System, Model FHBX-62R

Hi Guys, new to the website and posted this question in new members, then saw the bold writing NO QUESTIONS IN THIS SECTION, sorry. I have recently bought a JINMA 254 for use around my property which needs a lot of clearing so I also purchased a heavy duty Wood chipper, an Heavy-Duty Wood Chipper With Hydraulic System, Model FHBX-62R, to be exact.
Now I have no problems running the actual cutting blades as they just run from the PTO, the problem I have is the Hydraulic fed, feed system that is fed from the remote on the rear of the tractor. I can't seem to get them turning. I have read that I may have to divert fluid from the 3PL to the remote in order to use the chipper?? How is this acheived?? where is the control for this?? I am stuck as the manual for the tractor is in Chinglish and there is no mention of the rear remote or how to utilise it, needless to say I did not receive a manual with the wood chipper either. Any help would be grately appreciated.

I'm not sure I'm clear on your problem....... you DO , or do NOT currently have a set of hydraulic outlets at the rear of your tractor? If you have a set that are controlled by a lever, you will need to use a bungee cord to hold the valve open when the chipper is connected. Better yet would be if you had a pair of hydraulic outlets at the rear from your power beyond, as you would have to power a backhoe or wood splitter.

Hi Ductape, I do have a set of hydraulic outlets fitted, they can be seen in the photo, the lever associated with the outlets has two positions L & R (whether that is the right knob fitted I don't know) but my son held this lever in both positions whilst I operated the forward/neutral/reverse lever fitted to the chipper, I have even swapped them over ??? but the feed system still fails to operate??

That chipper should have a flow control valve on it. If it is turned back to reduce flow, the feed rollers will not feed. I would try to open up the flow control next. It is a lever on a hydraulic valve with a knob on it that acts like a set screw to lock it in place. You will have to hold your valve open, as you already know..... many people us a bungee cord on the lever.

P.S. I believe you will find the flow control on the side of the feed hopper just after the directional valve. Yours appears to be different than the one I had on my chipper. The BX-62R is one helluva chipper !!

Good luck ! On my tractor, turning the flow control back to about one third shut the feed rollers down completely. It did not need to be cut back all the way as logic might dictate. Once you get the rollers feeding, you will have to run some brush through and adjust it so that it feeds slow enough that it does not stall your tractor, but fast enough to make fair progress. If you get it operating please post some photos of it in action. We love pictures here. :thumbsup:

Not that I can add much on the hydraulic issues. I can say to watch out for swinging branches when running that thing. I wear a helmet and glasses along with good ear protection running my chipper. It will save your head ears and eyes from flying branches.
Another bit of advice is keep the knives and anvil good and sharp as well as the proper gap between them...And grease the heck out of all of those bearings.. Live long and prosper with that chipper..:thumbsup:

Jinmadownunder, Nice setup.:thumbsup: I looked at my 2008, Jinma 254 and I have only one rear remote. Yours is the newer system with dual remote. To activate my rear remote, the black knob just in front of the drivers seat, has to be turned to the right. I suggest you repost this on the Chinese Tractor section. There is allot of good information there.:thumbsup:
