3 PT Power Rake
I'm trying to find, if they even exist, a PTO powered 3 PT power rake. All I can find are 22" walk behind blue bird type power rakes. I'm a notta gonna do a 3 acres atta way.
Any suggestions are welcome. I may just end up tilling the whole dang thing up and starting over if I don't find the power rake.

Re: 3 PT Power Rake
Call some rental companies that rent tractors. They may rent one, much cheaper than spending the money.

Re: 3 PT Power Rake
The Harley rake isn't really what I was looking for. They are expensive though. What I was looking for has rotating vertical blades the slice the soil and pull up the thatch. The Harley rake looks like it just peels the turf right off. I have used Power Rakes before on my little lawns and they do a great job of pulling the thatch up. Lots of raking when your done. I would think that golf courses would use them to prevent thatch build up.

Actually, these are what he's looking for. I just typed in "pto dethatcher" to Yahoo, and these are the first couple I found. Not worth the cost for a home owner.

Re: 3 PT Power Rake
I was looking for the same thing before. The best option I found that people recommended was a rotary broom. The bristles are stiff enough that they will dethatch a lawn plus you can use it for Spring plowing cleanup to remove stones and gravel. Almost all of the used ones that I could find where hydraulic units for skid steers, and the price was more than I wanted to pay. I was mostly looking for spring cleanup though, I ended up getting a rubber sweeper attachment for my trimmer.

Re: 3 PT Power Rake
The Bush Hog Verticutter is what I am looking for, never heard it called that before though. The overseeder is great too, does two jobs at the same time. But the prices, dddddaaaaaannnnnnnggggggg! I have 6 acres that I would be rejuvenating, but still, that's a pot load of money. Thanks guys for the leads and help.
