Monday afternoon I was out shopping for a new rotary cutter for the new tractor, and found a really nice built cutter from Modern Ag products.

I seen just how well made, really, heavy good thing I didn't have the check book in the truck. or I would have had one on the spot. but guess I'll go back and get one on this comming Monday. At least this one is really American made, and built the same way. hope every one go and checks them out.
their web site is WWW. modernagproducts.com
Hope this helps those in need of a new cutter.

6shooter - Thanks for bringing this company to our attention. Which rotary cutter are you looking at and what's the price?

I am going with the 72" competitor, going to pick one up on Monday
( day off), I looked at so many here lately. Woods, Rino,Frontier, Landspride and bushhogg. I like the cut of the frontier, but the price is really high. but the Modern Ag Products has the best of them all. and for the price of$1395.00
They have them all beat. I'll have to write a reveiw after running it a few times....

Thanks David. Congratulations on the purchase. The price is with slip-clutch or shear pin? From what I can tell Modern's standard rotary cutter is slightly beefier than the competitors. This past year I went through a rebuild of my Deere MX-5 cutter and it wasn't cheap and the parts were delayed from Mexico for a horrendous amount of time. I might purchase a larger unit and will certainly look at these folks. Thanks again for bringing this company to our attention.....Cheers, Gary

That web site didn't work for me. Google turned up this. Same thing?

Haywire, Yes that is the same modern.

I had an older (very old) sunshine cutter by modern.

It was well built and heavy. The gearbox looked pretty beefy. Allthough the stump jumper and blades werent nearly as heavy as my old bushhog model 105 cutter. Overall weight in the two was about the same.

I really cant say much about it because I didn't keep it long. But prior to that I had not heard of modern. So I had to do some research. I read a ton of good things about them.

PS are you getting one with the galvanized deck?? I think that is what I read about the most, and kinda what sets modern appart is the galvanized implements.

David . . . After looking at several different rotary cutters, I bought a 5' Competitor in late 2009 and have been very pleased with it. I have used it on some fairly rough property and it has performed exceptionally well. I've only had to keep it greased and touch-up the blades a couple of times. You should be very pleased with your new cutter! - Barry

I like the look of the 10' predatorr pull type. I can't find a list of dealers, though. Do they sell direct or is there a dealer network? Anyone know the cost of this model?
