Gary M the address is www.split-fire.com. It is the ss230 series. I found this address on the forum, probably from the splitfire owner who just posted, who might have had a previous post. I receive a phone call today that I would be receiving the split-fire log splitter tomorrow. Anxious to try it out on the Kubota 3010 fel splitter valve. Hopefully it will work alright. I will also look into installing a power beyond hook up or maybe getting a PTO pump with oil resovoir installed or maybe an air cool engine to power it. This unit is a 3 pt. hookup. You can lay it flat on ground with long hoses. This company is out of Canada and are very friendly people. Try there toll free # if you are interested. One of the reasons for buying the splitter was the price & not having to deal with extra engine. another reason was a tornado uprooted my forty pecan trees and hated to see all this good wood go to waste. I also burn wood 12 months out of year at my camp, fireplace and outdoors. When I get the splitter hooked up and working I will let all you guys know the results.

Thanks, I didn't have the "-" in the middle. I did not see any prices listed, but it looks like an interesting unit.

I have the same set as you. I hooked my log splitter up to the power beyond hose.
It is the larger of the quick connects half way between the frame and joystick.
Two long hoses with the correct male and female ends. Dissconnect the p/b hoses.
Hook up the new hoses to complete the circuit again and you are ready to go. This way, you have full functionality of both the loader and log splitter. Works great.

The SS230 split-fire log splitter arrive at 12pm today. Did not install it on the tractor yet. Still boxed up behind my pickup trk. Too cold outside to be working on it. It looks pretty good. The exact cost, delivered was $640.00 dollars from split-fire in norwich, Canada. Call my dealer today for a price on a power beyond hook up. Price as much as the log splitter. I think I will try it on the FEL splitter valve, hopefully hoses are long enough to reach. Will have to add two coupling on the end hoses of the spliter. Leaving tomorrow for weekend hunting trip so I guest it will be next week before I can mount it on tractor. I will let all of you know how it performs.

$640 seems a bit outrageous for a power-beyond to me. I paid $120 for the hoses and all 4 quick connect fittings. The dealer made the hoses instead of ordering from the factory, maybe cheaper that way. Installed it myself in 20 minutes. My dealer had a sheet with detailed instructions on how to install, very simple. Kubota should have a similar sheet. All the power-beyond is is a detour of the pressure hyd oil line out of the pump before it reaches your loader valve and 3pt rockshaft. When not in use, the lines must be connected together for fluid to reach the loader valve and rockshaft. It isn't THAT inconvenient to use the splitter on the loader valve, I would before spending $600+. Good luck.

I think from reading his post, he
meant the splitter was $640.00.

Hoeman, I thing that he was saying that the dealer quoted him a price for the power beyond that was "as much as the splitter"...not chump change!

That splitter does look like a nice unit and being able to split in both directions is a nice feature.

Yes I finally got the split-fire 3 pt. log splitter hooked up today to the 482 FEl Joystick valvebody. There is a four hose hookup with color tabs blue, red, wht. and I believe blk. I disconnect the blue and red Quick Couplings and conected the two hoses from the log splitter. I connect the pressure side to red and the return side to the blue on the joystick valve or maybe I should say the curl and dump circuit. I tied the joystick to the steering wheel to release hyd. pressure going to the log splitter valve. From then on I use the log splitter valve on the log splitter. It splits the log on the forward and back stroke. I run tractor at 1500 rpm's and have plenty power and speed. It may not be the fastest but if it would be I believe it would be dangerous. The one advantage it has is it cuts on the forward and back stroke. It has plenty power. Tractor engine does not strain a bit. Yes the 3 pt. log splitter did cost me 640.00 delivered to my frt door from Canada. And I also told you guys dealer wanted 600.00 for a power beyond valve. This was the price. I call him back to make sure I had understood him right on his estimate on the valve. That was the price, no two ways about it. Well I could not afford this. I can still move tractor around with log splitter on. Fel bucket still goes up and down. I believe I split around three face cords of wood in a little while this afternoon. My only regets is I should have bought the four way log splitter which is the SS240 which would have been faster log spliting. But all in all I am satisfied.
