Just signed up for the tractor net and suggested that I try the attachment forum for some guidance.
I recently purchased a nice Case-IH 235 4WDR with bucket loader and finish mower.
I want to put a front mounted snow blower on the case and build a cab with HEAT so can work summer and winter.
I checked with my local Dealer who said a model 60 would fit and only cost $6000.00. This may be a good price but a little steep for me
I have a couple of walk behind snow blowers now as I snow blow my driveway and my daughters driveway next door.
Both are about 1500 feet long so do get a good workout but I seem to be getting older for some reason.
I have a Farmall cub which I have used for years with a blade but I know everyone who has pushed snow as the season keeps dropping more white stuff the piles get closer and closer to the road.
My father who passed away several years ago was a master mechanic so I did learned how to weld and fabricate what I may need but I am no where near the mechanic he was so looking for some suggestions.
Does anyone know what other front mounted units might fit the case?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Darryl

The only way your going to do it quickly is purchase

a motorised snow blower from Bercomac inc for RTV's

and be able to do it quickly with no fuss or muss as the

the smallest dependable hydraulic powered loader mounted

snow blower will approach $14-15,000.00 with pump, reservoir,

control valves, quick attach hitch mounting frame, and snow blower

which has a hydraulic drive gear box for the cross auger and impeller

fan, a hydraulic drive chute and spout control.

The money you save on a rear mount would let you buy a proper cab and have fewer building issues as they custom build almost all of them when ordered.

You will be better off buying a rear mount 60-72 inch Pronovost Puma from

Tudor and Jones for much less money.

All you wil need is a suicide knob to make the tractor turn where you want it

to turn while in reverse.

Just remember that you are traveling at 88 feet per minute per mile per hour and you are removing all the snow in one pass and the rear mount will not get stuck with the low ground clearance issues of a front mounted unit at any time.

At three miles an hour you are traveling at 264 feet per minute in reverse and

clearing two passes of 3,000 feet will require 12 minutes rounded in time if the snow is one foot deep and you will have removed 158 tons of snow in 2 passes with a 5 foot wide Allied snow blower from Ken Sweet or the Pronovost Puma.

2 passes for both drives will remove 316 tons plus or minus and will require 24 minutes to accomplish.

I appreciate the info.

I was thinking of removing the Bucket Loader as it has a quick disconnect and then use the hydraulics of the tractor to power the snowblower.

I have never used a rear mount and always thought they would be a pain to have to stretch to look behind all the time to see where I was going.

On the Cab you mention that they would custom build one, is there a company that custom build cabs other than the manufacturer. I have seen other companys but many are canvas and I would like a hard shell steel or composite material one.

Like I said would be using summer and winter so want to be somewhat comfortable.

I will look into the Pronovost Puma mode.

Again apprecaite the input and any further thoughts that you may have.

My experience under ideal conditions, hydraulic drive snowblowers DO NOT work.
Your loader hydraulics will not provide the flow the blower requires. If you had the specified flow the blower still won't work. PTO powered blowers seem to work well with HST transmissions, so the ground speed can be ideally matched to the snow conditions. Have the your dealer demonstrate the blower he wants you to buy, when you have snow to work in. Once you write the check, the blower is yours, if it works or not.

For the little bit that your going to be doing a rear mount is the way to go.
3000 feet may seem like a lot when using a walk behind but a rear mount blower will wade through massive amounts of snow in very little time.

Appreciate all the advice.

I have always had old tractors and restored a few but never had one that was going to be an real four season work tractor which is what I want the to Case to be.

Looks like I will be looking for a nice three point blower.

Again thanks for all the help and any other advice will all be welcome.

On the cab if anyone knows who makes custom cabs or comes across a cab that may fit my CaseIH 235 please let me know. Always can modify a cab that is already made than trying to build one from scratch.
