This Massey Ferguson #124 Square Hay Baler is in almost new condition. (Best #124 baler I have ever seen, other than a new one). It was a one owner, out of an estate and we have the original owners manual to go with it. This is the original Paint and it makes 14" X 18" X Varable Length Square Hay Bales at 80 strokes/min.
Baler's Overall width 8 ft. 4 in. ----Height 4 ft. 5"----Length 16 ft.
Approx. weight 3060 lbs.
Gathering width of pickup 48 in.
$4200 OBO-- Ken Sweet

Man! I wish that was mine but then I'd have to plant something to bale.

The neighbour bought a much cleaner 224 with her farm... ran it up onto some rocks and wrote it off. Insurance money bought her a rough NH.

Ken: that's a nice 124. Mine is a lot more worn looking.
124s are good balers, fairly easy to work on, except for the bale chamber knives which are a challenge to service/replace (access is very tight).

How long have you had your 124? Ken Sweet

What do you think the market value is of a baler like this in Northern California? Ken Sweet

I paid $2K for mine and it's not as showy as the one you're selling. But everything works OK (so far). Here's what my 124 looks like:

Last May a 124 in the same shape as yours sold on eBay for $3400 out of Upland, Indiana.
Last March a 124 that looks much like mine sold on eBay for $2000 (Jeffersonville, KY--Is that you?) and that month another one in the same condition went went for $2300 (Russell Springs, KY).

Don't have any recent cost data for 124s in my neighborhood.

Hope this helps.
Good luck.

That is a nice baler. I know Jeffersonville, In but not Jeffersonville, Ky? No, that is not us. Did you put the bale flipper on after you got it? Why would you ever need those lights :D Ken Sweet

The lights and flipper came with the baler. The previous owner also installed a single action hydraulic ram on the pickup so he could make adjustments from the tractor seat.
