Yes but that limits what you may power. With 15 kw, 120/240 you may power the whole house from one point.

Not bad for the price. Of course you will be installing a disconnect switch for safety, code and law. Without a disconnect you risk back feeding the local power grid, a blue flash and a boom when the power station comes on-line.

To say nothing about knocking some poor b@stard lineman right off a pole.

i guess that's fine IF you need the entire house going during an emergency.. vs conserving fuel and whatnot and just having a cold refer and some water or a lamp and radio.. etc.

when we loose power in florida during the hurricanes. depending on where you live. I've seen outage times measured in the weeks... that means fuel rationing.

no need to burn 15kw all day long if not needed.. plus the expense of the xfer switch.. etc.

for thaose that have the cabbage to burn.. cool..

Well Soundguy ... maybe the cabbage plays apart!!! I have been contemplating a PTO generator ... for me its more than the house. With the stock I have a power outage is a disaster. Current conditions have kept me awake wondering about the heat system in the barns, the well house as well as the home itself ... sure we heat the house with wood and could get by ... even with a PTO ... one would not have to run it all day 24/7 ... run it as you need it.

same here.

when we had our bad extended outtages in 04 and 05, I had to haul the genny out to the farm property a couple times a week to pump up all the stock tanks.. then back tot he house for more waterers and tanks.. and our water.. and refer's etc.

just burning diesel to hear it run isn't something I do. not to mention being the only house on the block with lights on and all.. and a genny running all night might annow the neighbors who DON'T have the endless money and fuel to burn to have whole house power for 3 weeks during a state of disaster.. :(
