After about of month of use I figure it was about time to give a review of this plow. I purchased the CID plow through Jeb Supply Co. on December 20th by January 4th the plow was in my yard. As usually Jim @ Jeb Supply Co. was very helpful and patience. I send him like 20 emails before I finally decided to buy it and as normal he got the attachment shipped quickly. Keep in mind I want the plow in yellow instead of gray which meant a custom order and the plow was order during a holiday week and shipped the next week which was a holiday week. CID (www.cidattachments.com) and Jeb Supply did a great job getting me the plow quickly and just before mother nature dump 14" of snow two days later.

My first impression of the plow when the freight driver open the trailer back was “Holy Crap, that's one big bad *** plow. I sure hope it works as good as it look!” Well after several snow storms and record snow fall I can say without a doubt this plow works great. The plow is all metal. The quick attach and frame are well built. The quick attach frame mates to my tractor quick attach with no play, it fits as well as my tractor's OEM attachments. The main bearings are large and have grease fittings. The hydraulics lines are plenty long. The roll top does a great job of rolling the snow so it doesn't fly over the plow. The plow back drags just as well as it plows forward. The price is very competitive. Unfortunately as much as I would love to give CID two thumbs up there are a few issues with this plow.

The first problem I ran into was the trip spring eye bolts started to open up after a couple of uses. This would cause the plow to trip even more which became very annoying. This issue was easily resolved by welding the bolts eye close. CID quickly sent me replacement bolts that had the eyes welded close which permanently resolved this issue.

The second issue I found was one of the plow shoe mounting bracket didn't have the correct bend in it. This caused the shoe to tilt backwards instead of frontwards which caused the shoe to dig into the ground. CID did send me a replacement bracket and shoe, but still the old bracket needs to be cut off and the new one welded on. CID did offer to repair the plow if I shipped it back but at $350 shipping I would have preferred they agreed to pay a local welder to fix it. It does not appear to me this was damage caused during shipping but I can see how this could have occurred since the shoes hang down well below the brackets and below the top of the shipping pallet. The shoes could easily get caught on something while being moved. My recommendation is to not ship the plow with the shoes attached to the brackets. Current I do not need to use the shoes but when spring nears I will need to.

The final issue the CID must address in the plow design is the metal fatigue that happens between the top of the outer lower plow brace and the upper roll-top brace. Over time the roll-top flex that occurs in this area on both side of the plow will result in the metal cracking and the breaking apart. The crack will start on the outage edge of the plow and work towards the center. See pictures. Once the crack starts and makes it way to the inner brace it will grow quickly with use. I had no choice but to weld it myself. These areas definitely need reinforcing. It's disappointing to see this since overall the plow is so well built.

Overall I really like this plow, but for it to become a really winner that I can highly recommend CID needs to work on preventing the shoe bracket issue and resolve the metal fatigue issue.

PS: When I a chance I will add this to the review section of TractorByNet once I figure it out

UPDATE: CID Attachments comes through! Soon after sending an email concerning plow's metal fatigue issue to Jim @ Jeb Supply Co. Roger at CID Attachments contacted me to organize the plow's repair. I received the repaired plow a few days ago with several noticeable improvements.

* Two additional vertical top ribs added near the plow's center.

* Horizontal rib connecting the top and bottom ribs together.

* Much improved shoe bracket design.

* Improved shoe design. Larger shoe surface area, less likely to dig into the ground then the old design.

* Lock nuts added to the spring eye bolts.

I was pleasantly surprised by the number of improvements. It's obvious CID Attachments values their customers and takes the quality of their equipment seriously. Of course time will tell how well this design holds up to Mother Nature's extremes, but I now have greater confident that it will. Thanks CID Attachments!

I'm unclear as to how they resolved your numerous plow issues? Did they have you pay to ship it back to them?
If I may ask, how many $ did it take to purchase it originally? If you would rather not post it send me a PM with details- (if you want to share that info). I may decide to go to a plow rig too or possibly a front blower- but have to give it serious research and thought as to my specific needs.
Those welded shut eye-bolts still seem under rated for their task.
They look like regular grade hardware from a hardware store, instead of a much heavier duty bolt for your spring's retention...
Otherwise it looks like a really nice setup.
Are you able to use your factory Kioti joystick to run the plows maneuvers?
Do you have a second set of rear remotes you are running the plow off of?

Thanks,

CM

CID took care of all costs including shipping to and from the factory. The welded bolts have held up well. I'm not sure I would want a higher grade bolt since if something going to break I would preferred the bolt break instead of a spring.

My plow operate off the rear remotes. I have two hydraulic lines that extend the remotes to the FEL.

I considered a front snow-blower but cost and flexibility became major factors for me. A front snowplow was so much more expensive and requires more time to mount since the FEL needs to be removed. I can normally remove the FEL bucket and mount the plow in approximately 5 minutes. I may still get a rear snow-blower in the future for more flexibility

Jeb Supply is currently selling the plow for $1,699,98 + $198 for shipping.

From what I have seen dealing with plowing commercially, the springs will fatigue and need replacement before you break the spring. It is surprising they don't use an off the shelf plow eye bolt though as others do.

Looks nice though.

I meant "snow blower" instead of snowplow in the sentence above. My error.

The snowplow is still going strong. So far no further issues. It pushed a lot of snow since it purchase in 2010.

If you purchase the plow from jameseb1969 in eBay make sure to ask for the reinforcement added to my plow as shown in the pictures above. I purchased my grapple and snowplow through jameseb1969 and received a great price and service.

That sure is a nice plow. I had just about the same thoughts of issues from the photos in your first post. Looks like they were very well addressed in your following pics. Nice rugged plow.
