Can anyone identify this old cultipacker? The rear wheels are 9" diameter. I understand that at one time it had a seeder attachment, and I'm wondering if it would be practical to add a seeder box. It's also missing one of the rear rollers, which I would like to replace.

I would say homemade frame?

I wish I could find one like that. I want to cut one down to pull behind my two bottom plow.

From the looks of the hitch it may be from the horse drawn era.

It looks perfect to me if I wonded it. I would grease and go unless you plan to use it to do 10,000 acres.

Typically these things stay parked 99.99999% of the time and get used at seeding time. :D

Thats a dandy look'n packer... Sweettractors should be able to identify it. To me, it looks like an old deering design almost. Too bad its lacking a seed box but, very useful still:D

It's on a kind of indefinite loan from a friend of mine. I use it for sowing grass and summer annuals. Disk it, smooth it with a homemade tire harrow, seed it with a Baltic spreader, and then run the cultipacker over it. I wind up with a pretty smooth turf. But it does take four passes over the field to get all this done. My next project is getting some native warm season grasses started, but I'm not sure if I can handle the fluffy seed with my spreader.

I would say Dunham or Brillion. I does appear to me the frame has been modified, looks a little strange.

The "parts" look like my McCormick, just put together differently. It's definitely been modified.

You sure about that? I can't see any way that would work well.

You said the small back wheels are 9 inch diameter. Most double rollers have 15 inch front wheels and 11 inch back wheels. Sweet Tractor and Leinbach Equipment have old cultipacker wheels they sell. I believe they are about $35

From your second pic it looks like wood blocks the axles sit in? And grease zerks on top? Seems like a pretty cool setup.
