Re: used implement pricing
We have a lot of visitors to our website, just to check prices. We do have pictures of used implements, descriptions and prices of most. You may find this helpful for use as a guideline. I know of a few University ag programs that are linked to our site for educational use with the students--Ken Sweet

Re: used implement pricing
Used machinery prices vary as to the time of the year and geographical location of the seller's market. Say a 7' used disc mower may have less value in Texas but have greater value in West VA. and it could be the other way around. At Carter & Carter Machinery, we use the average auction value for an implement sold in its area as an idea of a machines market value. Also some dealers specialize in certain niches and they may from time to time have machines they can not sell because of their clientele and one can purchase a great value if you stumble up on this situation.

Heartland Ag-Business Group has a subscription service that provides monthly auction price guides as hard copy and via the Internet. I have seen a copy of the printed guide. As you might expect, most of the listed equipment is sized for commercial agricultural operations. The url is www.agdeal.com

Re: used implement pricing
In addition to CCI's list of variables, don't forget to include whether you are selling it or buying it. It seems that around here, the value of used stuff is a lot higher if you are the buyer than the seller
But to echo the "specialty" sentiment, I recently bought a 5' rear blade from a place that specializes in forestry equipment. I got an incredible deal on it, probably because they had it sitting around for a while with little prospect for selling it.
You can also check your local "trading post" type paper for ads. I would guess items that disappear quick are reasonably priced, those that hang around a long time are either over-priced or in low demand in your area. Either way, useful info.
