I need to buy a middle buster / sub-soiler / furrower and need a basic general size.

I know they are aproximately 75 lbs and I need to ideally put it in a VW Jetta trunk. I don't mind to remove hitch pins and/or the shovel. I am travelling to where I can buy one cheaper and I rather take the car than my gaz guzzler truck.

Not sure of the brand...a general size would be handy. I do think it would fit.

Thanks for any info.

A cat 1 middle buster probably doesn't weigh much more than 50 lb. I think it would fit in most trunks without a problem. This one is about 34" from top link hole to blade tip & 32" from pin tip to pin tip.

It was picked up at the local TSC for $139.

800 miles...but we are visiting family there and no local stores here carry them. Therefore I was going to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

No problems with your plan. A middle buster will fit in the Jetta trunk, for sure. I used to have a mid 90's Jetta and the trunk on that thing was huge. No problems loading it by yourself either, just might want to wrap it in a blanket or something so you don't scratch paint on the car.

I know the feeling about traveling. From one city to the next is 225 miles. For me to visit my mother its 575 miles, to visit one son 700 miles, the second son, 963 miles. My third son lives at home, so no distance involved.
Back to the topic: For what do you use a sub-soiler/middle buster/furrower? What major companies -internet type - carry these?
