I have a field cultivator, with the curved points that are 1 3/4" wide and just pointed at the end. I was thinking about putting bedding sweeps on to it to make rows. I am looking at Agri-supply, adn they have bedding sweeps that appear to fit my field cultivator from something like 9"s up to 24"s. Whats the difference and what should i get. I realixe the 24 is the length of the sweep, but with my shanks on the cultivator spaced appropriatly for each size sweep what am i looking for in order to make beds? Im new to this all as you can tell.

Anybody?

Anybody use Anykind of sweeps in their garden, for anything other than actual cultivation?

does anyone have pics of their garden after and what they used in it as far as sweeps so i can get an idea?

Sweeps are generally used for shallow weed cultivation of row crops. The sweep angle does not lend itself to laying off rows. A middle buster point woul do a better job. A grass sack wired around the narrow points you have will also work fine. Ken Sweet

Thanks ken, i knew that most cultivators and "sweeps" were for weeding or "cultivating", but what got me thinking is that Agrisupply had some called bedding sweeps, i guess its just that it will deposit that little bit of dirt onto the plants to burry the weeds beside the plants?

Thanks for your info.
