Hello all, I was just updating my details and choose a shot of my home made lifter for the avatar.(on the old mf65)

I needed something up front as I have difficulty turning around.
Its used as shown for helping the mobile butcher (thats him in photo)
Lifting 55 gallon drums of molasses, and logs which I turn into charcoal.

My work in progress ia a home made conical screw log splitter.
Our timber here is very tough.

You have a large and interesting forum here and I find the differences great.
I've never even seen snow.

regards vince.

Looking at the avatar, it is kind of hard to see the lift. Can you post a larger picture in the body of your post.

Also pictures of your splitter.

Hello J.J. will do when I get fresh batteries for my camera.

Re the lifter, in earlier times they (the cane farmers) would get the cane bins onto the trailers by pushing with the tractor ( fitted with a h.d bull bar ) that system is gone now and I got the bull bar for nothing and it forms the basis of the lifter. Maybe I should mention the cane bins and haulage to the mills is by way of diesel locomotives on a narrow gauge. (2 ft ) I drove one of these loco's in the late sixties and its still in use, in fact my old fergy was once fitted with a cane harvester in the same era.

Regards vince.

I would be interested in that, too! I looked at your profile and  Biography: a bit of a mad inventor. We can use more like you around here  (mainly so I can copy ideas ;)).

If you need help loading the photos, just ask...

Hello all, I will try an add pics of the lifter below.
Will do the log splitter after I add another lay shaft as it needs more grunt.
Regards Vince.
