Re: Midwest Quick Hich

Definately true, until the paperwork is filed. At that point the die is cast. And in actuality, the patentable features in these cases have still not been discussed or mentioned. Even though at this point it would make no difference, an agreement has been made to use the Louisville show as the debut and not fully disclose all the features involved.

Sounds like a good plan.

And the Louisville show is what - and when? (I think I know where).

Please post details (pics, price, dealers, etc.) as soon as you have them. I will purchase this when it comes out. From a user point of view, thank you for incorporating customer suggestions/comments into the design. I hope that you reap much reward from your practical development approach and customer friendly efforts. Build a better mousetrap.....

Re: Midwest Quick Hich

I'm still very anxious to see the new quick hitch as well. It'll be real interesting to see what has resulted from all of this work and effort over the past few months. Please let me know when the unveiling is going to occur. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Thanks!

I hope who ever goes will take some pictures and post them here for those of us that are "less fortunate."

Re: Midwest Quick Hich

I suppose waiting for the patent, prior to setting up manufacturing is more important for large equipment mass- production than for the industry I'm in. For electronics, we can't wait for the patent to issue because by that time, the market has changed and it is usually too late. Our manufacturing set-up costs are likely smaller too, so it is less risky.

But, if the company is confident in your patent, working in parallel with the process can add another year or so of protected sales. That's why we see PAT PEND on many new products.

You are still protected from the date of filing if someone copies your product, as long as the patent issues. Non-disclosures, marking your product and literature properly and being careful with information is still important though.

That's my experience anyway.

Randy Redding

Re: National Farm Machinery Show

I could not resist... saw the link to the Natl. Farm Machinery Show, took a peek and could not help myself....ran it by the misses and she said no problem...I'm going !!! I happen to be on a business trip to San Antonio 8-12 and I arranged to swing through Louisville on my way back to Nebraska...

Will be there on February 12th & 13th.. heading home on the morning of February 14th (Valentine's Day)... unless I want to sleep with the tractor for the next week, I plan on getting back to take the wife out to dinner that night... They really need to think about schedule dates for this thing...I imagine there will be some unhappy wifes and significant others...

But I am looking forward to it... Maybe we should have a Tractorbynet gathering after the show closes at 6:00 PM and share insights etc.... I have not been to it before, so am open to suggestions on where to meet by the Kentucky Fair Grounds.. Any suggestions...

PS: I plan on taking a digital camera...
