While restorting as harley rake I decided to add a slip clutch because of the damage encounter by rollers jamming, chain jumping sprokets and pillow block bearings breaking.
As I was removing the old coupling from the gear box, it had a friction clutch. I never seen one before. It had springs and little angled cylinders, which would slip under load. Maybe this clutch was frozen. Do friction clutches need grease? I like the slip type because I it has adjustment to it.
Are friction clutches a thing of the past. Does anyone have experience with them?
