I believe there are 2 types of twine one is for square bales, some round baler twine won't work. We had same problem

Well, Tonite will be the inaugural starting of the NH 269 since the plunger rebuild. I've been rereading all about the timing and knotter trip lever settings. I'll have reset all the settings. Hopefully I'll get some bales made this year. I'll report back. bjr

Were using a NH 500 and only the center twine brakes loose after about 100 bales we've replaced
the cutter and twister and several other parts but it still brakes the twine, any thoughts.

Quality of twine? What brand are you using? I use Bridon 9600 in my Hesston. Tried Tighton and others and they broak just as you described. It also may be you tension disks are to tight, or look for a bur on the wiper arm.

Also if the roll was exposed to sunlight for too long, it can be weaker on the side exposed to the sun.
