Go to your local metal scrap yard. Some heavy wall tube should be available there. bjr

McMaster-Carr is going to be your best bet. You can double check with them on how long the shoulder is. Maybe get one that is long enough so that you get enough shoulder in the pivot. Don't forget the lock nut.

Good luck

Thanks for all the good suggestions. After searching through all the web sites I guess McMaster is where I will be getting the bolt and nut. I plan on cutting the head off the bolt and welding it into one of the two new plates that I already have since there will not be enough clearance for the bolt head. Essentially I will have a stud protruding from one of the plates with enough threads for the nut height plus washer. The old plates are 5/8" thick and the new ones are 3/4" thick. The previous owner managed to do quite a bit of damage to the old plates and as can be seen the swivel alignment notches were mostly sheared off. One plate actually was cracked quite severely and had been welded. The rest of the scraper is in excellent condition. The blade is 9' and very heavy duty with class 2 pins.

Here is a picture of the parts being repaired. This project would be a lot easier if they had given me a lathe and a EZ-Track for a retirement gift.

Hmm...
I have an opinion and here it is. The blade is 9 foot with Cat 2 hitch pins.
I figure the reason it was welded up is because a 9 foot blade on a Cat 2 tractor pretty much destroyed a 2 inch pivot pin. Even smaller cat 1 blades nowadays have 2 1/2 inch pins and most are larger, 3 inch and up.

Like I said, just my opinion. Good luck.

Mcmaster has grade 5 and 8:
McMaster-Carr
They also have drill rod. O-1 and W-1 are easyiest to harden and temper yourself. I would probably go this route since it can be hard to predict how long the smooth shank will be on a bolt. A 12" piece will run about $50+ with shipping.
McMaster-Carr
